Minute – Chapter 1, by LuvEwan – Star Wars – All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]

Later he would try to remember exactly what happened that afternoon, after he promised Qui-Gon absolute forgiveness. He should have memorized every detail about that moment, because it was the passage of one life into another, a banquet after long fasting, the satiation of a hunger he had not recognized, before.

This fic straddles the uncomfortable line that’s unavoidable in a realistic depiction of a relationship between teacher and student, yet it somehow manages to be incredibly readable and touching.

A Second Heart, by LuvEwan – Star Wars – All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]

Qui-Gon is not worried for him exactly—Obi-Wan has been ready for a long time, at least two years before the Naboo mission—but he cannot shake the idea that Obi-Wan should be with him.

He has lost so much, even in surviving. The medics on Naboo have taken his heart and the Council have taken his Padawan.

A lovely post-TPM what-if, in which Qui-Gon survives but feels changed…

“You’re going to blow our cover,” Obi-Wan whispers against his ear, his voice harsh to pierce through the thump, thump, thump of the music.

Qui-Gon merely raises his eyebrow in response. The bass is far too loud, and he is far, far too old for this.

“You’re stiff as a protocol droid, for fuck’s sake. Move,” Obi-Wan hisses, his breath hot and reminiscent of chadian rum.

Undercover in a gay club trope. This makes their coming together feel unavoidable, two bodies crashing together. But of course it’s not just bodies, therefore there’s a bittersweet edge to the entire scorching hot encounter.

To Spare You, by Firondoiel – Star Wars – All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]

Qui-Gon remembered the cups they had been offered by the priest upon arrival. One for him, one for Obi-Wan.

“Your priest has poisoned my apprentice?”

“Poisoned? No! Never. It is a symbol. A symbol to our deity that we have found a worthy gift for it to claim.”

“How does your deity claim this gift?”

“Oh, it calls to the anointed. It joins their energy to its own. It is a blessing to be so worthy.”

Probably the best use of the virgin sacrifice/fuck or die trope I’ve ever read.

Qui-Gon survives. Obi-Wan is knighted. Busy with solo missions, he slowly realises something about his feelings for his former Master.

The Code is the tool he reaches for, steady and heavy and secure. A Jedi shall not know love.

He realises, now, the careful crafting in the words that escaped him as a child. Shall not.

Perhaps those that made it knew they would be creating a lie in writing ‘will not.’

This is a perfect gem of angst; forbidden love unavoidable in its intensity as Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon come together in the dark of night.

He has a list of things the Code asks him not to keep.

He doesn’t keep the things themselves, of course. He would never harm his master, or his master’s reputation like that. Others – younger ones – look to him, a padawan to imitate.

He keeps the memories of them, those moments. A trained Jedi knows many mnemonics.

He takes them out sometimes, only sometimes, examines them from every angle, reaches for detachment. Who knows, he might even achieve it one day.

Pining, so much pining; this is a gorgeous and poetic glimpse into Obi-Wan’s soul, as well as achingly sensual when Qui-Gon unavoidably catches on.

Fall Back Together – Chapter 1, by DarkIsRising – Star Wars – All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]

Expecting the worst has seldom left him underprepared for weathering the whims of fate. Still he is shocked when he looks up to find a tall man with long hair, a mouth that gives nothing away, and eyes that dance to see him.

Obi-Wan runs into his former Master – delicious smut and feelings happen.

In My End Is My Beginning – Lilith Sedai

Obi-Wan let himself be led away, conscious of the children’s eyes following him. Of his own eyes following him. Obi-Wan Kenobi, age four at most.

Qui-Gon would be thirty-five.

Qui-Gon.

Qui-Gon would be here.

Obi-Wan finds himself back in time – and of course, he has to try and make sure his Master survives. Except nothing is ever simple, as this fic beautifully shows.

From his huddled covert, Obi-Wan could now see a thin wash of colour over Qui-Gon’s face, a sprinkling of starlight reflected in the silver of his beard, his hair. Slowly, he began to move, taking a few steps towards to water’s edge. He leaned down, picked up a pebble and skimmed it neatly across the shimmering surface. The air was sweeter now and brighter with every passing moment. Obi-Wan could just follow the little stone’s trajectory in pale jumps of froth. He smiled to see his serene and remote Master do something so out of character.

He nearly fell over in a bush when Qui-Gon abruptly slipped the robe off his shoulders.

His Master was completely naked.

Obi-Wan sees his Master in a new light. 😉 I’m always there for some Qui-Gon appreciation, and this is just lovely. (Not technically slash, as Obi only admires from afar. *g*)
