This perfectly encapsulates everything I love about this couple.
“Gook-ah…,” he hummed slowly, “Have you ever kissed anyone before?”
Tae Joo was pretty certain that the answer was no, but he had to know for sure.
Gook swallowed roughly as he looked away again and shook his head in a small movement.
Great Tae Joo POV of the bits we didn’t see – with a lot more kissing and plenty of emotion.
Tae Joo slumped forward until his head was resting on Guk’s shoulder. “Don’t be mad at me, Guk-ah,” he murmured, and nuzzled against him.
He knew the driver was paying attention, but Guk lifted a hand to Tae Joo’s hair anyway. He threaded his fingers through it. Too gentle, he thought, but didn’t stop.
“I’m not mad,” he promised, too honest but not able to stem the words. “I’m doing my job. But if you — if you keep doing that. I might not be able to.”
I can protect you from everything but me, Guk thought, but as with most things, he didn’t say it.
An absolutely perfect 5+1 times fic that captures Gook’s heartache during all those years – and the closure once they’re back together.
He can wait, but it isn’t easy. He doesn’t want to let go, not at all, not to let Guk put the suitcase in the trunk, not to buckle their seatbelts, not to escape any prying eyes. He used to be able to touch Guk any time he wanted, though never as much as he wanted, and now it’s been three years and he’s starving.
The perfect coda for this perfect little gem of a show.
