“Sit down,” the doctor said. He took blood, three vials filling up dark red. “Any medical conditions?”
“No,” Dom said, and then his mouth kept going and said, “What if I want to volunteer for bonding?”
The doctor peered at him over the glasses. “Do you want to volunteer for bonding?”
It hung in the air. Dom felt it like a noose around his throat, squeezing. Twenty-five to life. “Yeah,” he said.
“Less than one in ten guys even rates going in the database,” the doctor said. “And they don’t pull a lot of guys out of here.”
“I want to volunteer,” Dom said.

This is a bonding story unlike any I’ve read, and it’s brilliant!
Brian huffed a short laugh. “Is this the whose bitch do you want to be conversation?”
Dom stared down at his hands. “Brian,” he said, and couldn’t keep going. He wanted to start talking the kind of bullshit Roman would’ve been selling right now: it doesn’t mean anything, it’s just for show, it won’t be that bad, when what he meant was don’t fucking make me watch you die. He’d done a great job not thinking about it before now, but he knew what was going to happen if Brian said no, if he tried to fight it out.
Brian looked away. “I’ve put a lot of guys into prison, Dom. I know the score.” He blew out a breath. “Do you mind?”
“No,” Dom said, forcing it past his closed throat. He minded enough to gut himself, but that wasn’t the answer Brian was going to get from him, some chickenshit how about Roman, as if that could even have worked, as if he could’ve let that happen and not killed Roman himself with his bare hands.

Utterly captivating canon-divergence.
“What is it?” he demanded. “What’s wrong?”
Mia said, her voice a little choked with laughter, “It says Brian.”
“The fuck it does,” Dom said, but nobody said she was joking. He ran up to the bedroom and grabbed the shaving mirror out of the shower and got it angled right, and shit it did say Brian, the letters clear in pink new skin.

This soulmates AU is simply delightful.
It was a joke between him and Letty when Brian first got assigned to the campaign: they’d met the Secret Service team together and it had been all Dom could do not to look over at her as Han said, “Governor, this is Agent Brian O’Conner, he’ll be the head of your personal detail.”
“Well, now you really have to win,” Letty said that night, laughing deep and throaty after Dom fucked her twice even though they’d been through three cities that day. “Shit, Toretto. Do you think somebody knows?”
“If they know and this is their idea of what to do about it, I’m not complaining,” Dom said. He didn’t tell Letty she didn’t have anything to worry about, because she knew that just fine. “Jesus, he’s pretty.”

A fantastic bodyguard AU. Established Dom/Letty.
“So what the fuck even was that last night,” Letty said to Mia, the next morning, after the guys went off to the garage. “Do they do this—”
“All the time,” Mia said.
“While you’re there?” Letty said.
“Well, I think they like it better if I’m there,” Mia said. “Otherwise it might seem gay.”

In which Letty is not about to let Brian and Dom get away with shit, no matter how obtuse they’re being. (Established Dom/Letty and Brian/Mia.) This is A+ crack. 😉
The minivan was spotless, freshly waxed, and had a new carpet down in the back before they took it back home, but Mia was mad anyway: after dinner she was banging the plates around in the sink with an expression like an angry tornado, and when Dom tried to slink past her to get the empties into the recycling bin, she whirled on him. “Is it really asking too much for you to quit having sex with my husband?” she said, and shit, he wasn’t going to forgive Ramsey ever.
“Mia,” he groaned. “Do we seriously have to talk about this?”
“Jesus Christ,” Dom said. “Yeah, apparently it is asking too much; you think I want to be doing this?”

Dom discovers a (not so little) something about Brian – and about himself… This is hilarious and hot.
Brian’s setting down the wrench, picking up a beer, two of them, necks held together by his practiced grip, sweat on the bottle, iced up inside. “Corona?” he’s saying, the heat of his hand, letting the bottle drip as he offers it. There’s a matching sweat ring on his t-shirt, damp around the collar, around the pits, stain of it spreading up his back as he turns for the opener.
Something trembles deep inside Dom. It shifts in his gut, dries his mouth until he can only reach for the beer, open his mouth and his throat to it. Let it sit cold inside him, chill for a moment until he warms up around it. Jesus, Jesus and it’s unsaid, unheard. There’s a long line of tradition inside Dom, half of it his own creation. Most of it says in clear cut terms, these are the things you can’t have, these are the things you can’t be. Shit that belongs in the showers, in the dark.

A perfect little coda, full of tension you could cut with a knife…
“It’s Thompson,” Dom whispers. “Fuck. Listen, follow my lead, don’t freak out, and don’t talk.”
Brian has no chance to respond before Dom’s pushing him up against the wall and kissing him hard. If Dom’s tongue weren’t already pushing into Brian’s mouth, Brian would probably swallow his own tongue in shock. Dom buries one hand in the hair at Brian’s nape and squeezes his side with the other. He pulls back long enough to murmur, “C’mon, Spilner,” against Brian’s mouth.

Gotta love the ‘make out as a cover’ trope…
He saw the shadow move before he actually registered the sound, the click. Instinct and surprise should have made him move faster, but he was almost on the shadow before he noticed it, before it moved. It was no tackle, more like tripping, legs tangling with his, a heavier body and an amazingly solid fist punching into his lower back even while he twisted around to meet his attacker head-on. That faint filtered light from the windows and the kitchen shone off skin and a white t-shirt. A mostly white t-shirt. So glaring now even in the half-light and how had he missed it? How had he missed Dom sitting in his living room?
Last place he expected him to be. He should be in Mexico. Anywhere.

Pretty epic canon-divergence that deals in responsibilities and consequences.
