“You’re alive,” Wei WuXian tells him nonsensically, and Lan WangJi barely has time to nod in affirmation before Wei WuXian yanks him into a wet hug. “Get out of here, you dumb jerk,” he mumbles, squeezing him, ignoring how his wounds from Zidian pull agonizingly at the movement. “What the hell are you doing here?” He feels Lan WangJi’s hands come hesitantly up to embrace him back. He says quietly, so that Jiang Cheng won’t hear, “I don’t think there’s anything you can do for the Jiangs.”
“Wei Ying,” Lan WangJi says, equally quietly, “With all due respect… I am not here for the Jiangs.”
Lan Zhan finds the Jiangs on their way back to Lotus Pier after the attack. This feels like a missing scene from the show, slotting in seamlessly.
