The Promise, by Ophelia_j – Stargate SG-1 [Archive of Our Own]

Sam Carter strode through the corridors of the SGC with single minded purpose. This was it. The moment had arrived. She’d promised herself, that if a chance like this came, she would take it. Their job was too perilous, and their lives potentially too short, to do otherwise. So this was the moment. Right now. Or at least, in seven minutes. She reached her destination, took a breath, and knocked on the door.

Oh, this ship… How much I wish we’d seen just a bit more of it on the show! Like this little gem.

Amateur, by Fahye – Battlestar Galactica (2003) [Archive of Our Own]

“What’s the story with you and Lee?” he says eventually, keeping his voice casual, certain that bluntness is the best policy to use with her. “You’ve got a bit of a weird dynamic going on.”

Kara is quiet for a moment and then looks away. “I was engaged to his brother,” she says. “Zak. He died. His Viper crashed.”

Anders waits for almost a minute before realising that this is all she will say, that she thinks he will accept that as a full explanation. It isn’t one. It doesn’t even come close.

He wonders if she’s lying to herself, or just to him.

Sam POV. An insider’s outside perspective of the mess that is Starbuckandapollo and those that surround them…

The Same Moon Shines, by sami, 陈情令 | The Untamed (TV), 魔道祖师 – 墨香铜臭 | Módào Zǔshī – Mòxiāng Tóngxiù [Archive of Our Own]

Wei Wuxian wants to laugh, but the doors reverberate with the loudest impact yet, and he knows that Lan Zhan has arrived.

Wei Ying!

The marks painted on the door are starting to show cracks, but it’s too late. The array on the floor is complete.

Wei Wuxian stands in the centre, closes his eyes, and blows a few simple notes on Chenqing.

The power comes up through his feet.

It feels like dying.

It feels like happiness.

It feels like it’s working.

Okay, so this. This series has eaten my brain for the last week – it’s about 4 different epic canon divergences, all supposing that Wei Ying decided to send his consciousness back in time to fix things. Each one is focused on a different “time traveller”, and the results are very different yet somehow always plausible.

Oh, and there’s about 45 shorter fics as well, including the whole bunch of utterly delightful “future nonsense” about the adventures of the six Immortals of Yunmeng in modern times. AND there’s plenty of ace rep, which pleases me muchly. Just… the whole things is utterly brilliant! (I’m tagging the WangXian alone because that’s pretty much the only ship that always sails.)

Angle of Descent – Chapter 1, by daphnaea – Battlestar Galactica (2003) [Archive of Our Own]

She thinks that if they were ever married, they’d have a throwing pots and pans, waking up the neighbors kind of life. Then a wave of guilt pulls her under. She expunges the word ‘married’ from her mental vocabulary.

This fic traces an entirely believable progression of their relationship – one that’s none-too-smooth but kind of inevitable.

About Time, by callmeonetrack – Battlestar Galactica (2003) [Archive of Our Own]

Standing under the nearest faucet, hands on the wall, head bowed under the spray is Lee Adama. Water sluices down his back, between his shoulder blades, over pale skin and bulging muscles, every inch proving that life can indeed imitate art and the CAG’s callsign was no joke.

Naked bodies are generally about as interesting as the bulkheads on a battlestar. Kara never stares, didn’t even when she was rook.

But this is Lee. And she’s wondered for far too long to stop staring now.

Yummy, set during 33 – I very much wanted the show to go this route. 🙂

Bird Stealing Bread (Sam/Jack) R – Surreallis Fic — LiveJournal

Jack had actually imagined being stranded off-world quite a few times. He had to. It had always been a real possibility and he needed to be prepared. It’s just… he’d never imagined it quite like this. In some of his more dangerous moments, he’d even thought about being stranded with Sam. Just them. Alone. And a part of him hadn’t exactly found the idea… unattractive.

But he really, really, really hadn’t counted on being stranded off-world with Sam. And Pete.

This is what I was always craving when watching SG-1.

Gilmore Girls Fic: “Good Girls Do” – Rory/Dean – R/NC17 – Modern Spinsterhood — LiveJournal

“I’m building a house,” he tells her when they bump into each other one day at the gas station.

“Oh!” she says, “that’s great.” So grown up, she thinks. And probably requiring lots of sweatiness and heavy lifting. How exactly was she so good when they were kids? He didn’t sport a tool belt back then, she remembers. That’s got to be it.

Canon-divergence. Rory comes back to Stars Hollow. Dean never left. Delicious!

The Queen of Wishful Thinking, by megyal – Fall Out Boy [Archive of Our Own]

So, Ashlee isn’t exactly the top of the Mensa heap, but she’s not blind, you know?

“You touch Patrick a lot,” she muses out of the blue, voice raised to carry over the pulsing music playing at the dance-floor, during one of the many after-parties they’ve been invited to. Pete looks slightly taken aback. “I mean. Like all the time.”

Ashlee starts something without quite realising what it means. This is not a poly fic…
