Belinda’s Kiss

morgandeeyue:

by Morgan D. (morgandeeyue)

Shadowhunters fic. Jalec. TW: major character death, illness, graphic description of vile
things, gross and questionable humor.

Summary: Jace is consumed by a mysterious illness. Alec does what he can to keep
his parabatai’s mind off it.

Read it here or on AO3.

They joke
about it being demon pox.

Well, it is
a joke between the two of them, who know Jace hasn’t had sex with anyone other
than Alec for the last fourteen years.

However,
that is their most guarded secret. All most people know about Jace’s love life
is that he has never married, and that in his younger days he had quite the
reputation for sleeping around, not discriminating between Shadowhunters and
Downworlders. So why not demons?

Alec wishes
he could tell the healers the truth, so they would realize the unlikelihood of
Jace catching such a vicious STD without infecting him. Granted, many of the
symptoms are suspiciously similar—rapidly-spreading rash, high fever, skin
sores, swollen limbs, hair loss, darkened corneas… But it has to be something
else entirely.

This honest to god made me cry.

darquebane:

Alec choked out a gasp, his head throbbing and lungs screaming with searing pain. His fingers clutched the hip were his parabatai rune lay so tight he could feel the skin break under this nails. Vision clouding, he heard a sob ripped from his own throat as he was pulled under.

Words to Live by

morgandeeyue:

Shadowhunters fic. Jalec. TW: major character
death.

Summary: The words of their oath follow Jace and Alec throughout their lives.

Read here or on AO3.

Entreat me not to
leave thee

Five of
Valentine’s followers have Jace surrounded. Just from the way they handle their
swords, he can tell only one of them—the sandy-haired woman with a scar on her
chin—is a born Nephilim. The other four were created by Valentine with the
Mortal Cup, and the few months of training they’ve received are not a match to
Jace’s experience. Still, the numbers are in their favor, and fighting five at
the same time isn’t exactly…

Well, four.
The tallest guy of the group has just been put out of the game by an incoming
arrow that pierced his neck through and through.

Make that
three. There goes the blond with the beard, with an arrow into his chest.

The others
finally seem to realize something is
happening. Jace can’t even blame them; the two arrows came up so quickly one
after the other, almost as if there were two archers at the end of the hall,
and not just Alec.

This is incredible! I love how it takes the words of the oath and tells Alec and Jace’s story – all the way to the end… or is it?

miazeklos:

to a place where nothing shines

Pairing: Jace/Alec

Rating: M (again, just in case)

Summary: Where Alec is concerned, there isn’t much that can stop Jace from getting to him.

Notes: A fic I’ve been planning for a long, long time. Loosely based on the fact that Alec and Jace’s parabatai bond doesn’t seem to break when one of them dies and on the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, with an attempt at a happier (?) ending. All the warnings are inside; please mind them. Other than that, I hope you enjoy it!

This is amazing – I don’t think I breathed once while reading it.

only silence to be found

Pairing: Jace/Alec

Rating: M (just in case)

Summary: "In just a few hours, their parabatai bond would be sealed. Nothing would be able to break them apart after that.“

Notes: Written for Day Four of the Jalec Spring Break – parabatai oath – and based on parabatai lore that I found very interesting and that is linked inside the fic. Hope you enjoy it!

This is simply brilliant, one of the best descriptions of the parabatai ceremony, with an interesting twist. <3

Nothing But The Truth

dnteverdoubtme:

Let us begin, the Inquisitor started in an unaffected tone, seemingly uncaring in regards to the man standing before her or the sword held in his outstretched hands. There were almost a dozen other figures standing in the room, representatives from the Clave and members of the family alike, and her gaze brushed pass all of them before it settled upon the Shadowhunter on trial.

State your name and rank, she ordered as their eyes finally met.

Alexander Gideon Lightwood,he replied without missing a beat, Head of the New York Institute. After almost ten years the title felt natural rolling out of his tongue.

The Soul Sword thrummed within his hold like a living wire, threatening to lash out at any given moment. The Silent brothers assured everyone that there was no reason to concern, not as long as Alec remained truthful; the nature of the accusations made against him lead the Nephilim to wonder exactly how long that might last.

Do you consider yourself a law abiding Shadowhunter, Mr. Lightwood? the Inquisitor proceeded without missing a beat.

Alec could see the trap laid out in front of him, how one might doubt their own loyalty in a situation like this, overthink the question considering every little transgression they had ever committed, but the question regarded his own assessment of himself and Alec had no doubts when it came to that.

Yes, he stated simply, feeling the breathing of those watching being held and then released in unison as nothing happened.

Oh wow, the sheer amount of feels this gave me… Alec on trial, having to come clean about his feelings for Jace – my heart almost couldn’t take it.

Promise

morgandeeyue:

by Morgan D. (morgandeeyue)

Shadowhunters fic. Jalec.
Not complacent with canon. Also, I took some liberties with the meaning of some
less known runes.

Summary: Clary asks her friends a couple of questions about their runes.

Read here or on AO3.

Clary falls
gracelessly on her butt, again.

Jace
snorts. “You seriously need to stop getting distracted by my wonderful abs when
we’re training.” He offers her his hand. “Or at all. You don’t want to give poor
Simon a complex.”

Clary rolls
her eyes, but accepts his help to get up. “Simon has nothing to worry about. Our
relationship is just fine, and so is
his abs.”

“Right. So
you were not distracted.”

“I was,
but… Oh, wipe that smirk off! I was just wondering if that rune is going to
vanish now.”

I lovelovelove this! It takes something so fundamental to Shadowhunter culture (runes), using Clary’s POV (for which I have a weakness) and gives us such a lovely glimpse at Jace and Alec, but also Izzy (Lightwoods forever! *g*).
