this town is a song about you, by femmenerd

Being Rory’s husband is different from being her boyfriend. Different from the last extended time, nothing like the half-assed one before that, but in some ways similar to the beginning. They have routines, an ever-evolving set of in-jokes; he feels like he’s hers.

Mature, post-series. I’ve always had a soft spot for Dean. This hits that perfect Gilmore Girls tone, warm and funny and overall happy-making.

Because Sense8 has eaten my brain, I went back and re-watched Brian J. Smith in “War Boys”, which has a gay storyline between two best friends (my favourite kind!) in between all the angst. This vid captures the lovely hesitant building of something beautiful – and it spares us the ambiguous ending. (I’m firmly in the “he lives” camp, btw.) Music by Britannia High.

He doesn’t say Before I saw you again, I used to wonder if I hadn’t died after all, and this was hell. It crosses his mind often, when things don’t seem quite real. It could be hell, or some other kind of punishment for killing without any reason except vengeance. But he always knows he’d do it again if he had the chance.

Adult, post-Winter Soldier, warnings for PTSD and some mild D/s.

Bucky might be the one who has to remember and then learn to live with the memories, but Steve needs him just as much. “Rain and Darkness Too” is wonderfully long, delving deep into these two and the immense, life-defining love they share. The follow-up fics are great as well – also, insanely hot.

The Fallen Son, by radialarch

Captain America 3: The Fallen Son is a 2016 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

Meta!fic, RPS. I absolutely adore this, it’s brilliant and had me laughing out loud in delight at how true it all rang (esp. the fan reactions, omg). The crossover into RPS made it even better – meta heaven! 🙂

Shit! Why the hell was this so difficult? The shock of actually seeing Olli again hit him much harder than he thought and no mental planning could have prepared him for this. His stomach was beginning to protest and the heat from the stove behind him made him feel dizzy. Yet, all Christian wanted to do was rush across the room, wrap his arms around Olli and just hold on, feel his warmth once again envelope him and his breath in his hair. But he no longer had that right, did he? He had given up that privilege when he signed those damn divorce papers after they had been returned to his attorney with Olli’s signature.

Adult, AU post-(final) break-up. I stopped watching the Christian/Olli storyline long before Christian’s final departure (before their first wedding, even) but had heard about the mess the fans were left with. This story manages to have our guys act like actual adults, acknowledging the importance of their relationship without erasing the mistakes they made. Also, the sex is hot, as befits the chemistry we saw on screen.

ETA: Sadly the fic has been deleted.
