Louis throws his hands up and turns towards him, Lestat instinctively raising a heel in case he needs to put distance between the two of them. But Louis notices and doesn’t approach him, doesn’t say anything else for a moment as he chooses to rest his chin in his hand, his angry, frustrated expression morphing into one of deep contemplation.
“When did the idea to stick it in the same hole you came out of suddenly occur to you?” he asks, and though the question is beyond crass his tone gives Lestat pause.
That, and the fact that Lestat isn’t immediately sure of the answer. If such a thought ever really occurred to him in the first place.

Adult, incest. This is an uncomfortable, painful read, dealing as it does with Lestat’s desperately unhealthy relationship with his mother, but seeing Louis so determined to protect Lestat is incredibly touching.
