This is what the prequels desperately needed: more snappiness, a groovy soundtrack – and less Jar Jar.

He faced Qui-Gon a pensive expression on his face.  “Qui-Gon—wait.  That isn’t right.  Master,” he said, bowing with his eyes closed, as if fighting off the dizziness that Terza had warned him about.  “I owe you an explanation, yes, but I feel it is one that the Council should hear, as well.”

Qui-Gon realized he was staring at Obi-Wan.  Who was this ultra-polite, refined, bewildering man that had replaced his exuberant Padawan?

Mature, AU, warnings for torture. After an injury put him into a strange coma, padawan Obi-Wan wakes remembering a whole history that now will never happen – at least not if he can help it. This is a mega-epic, spanning several novels – including a complete retelling of the canon as part of a vision in this awesome AU.

Oh, my Obi-Wan… This vid is full of his heartache and his realization that all he wants is hold Qui-Gon Jinn one more time. Music by Muse.

Two-Thirds God, by Tem-ve H’syan

Gilgamesh thought he could see the sun rising, for all that it might just have been a reflection of his own dishevelled hair in the rain-coloured eyes of his opponent.

How long had they fought? He had no way of measuring time, and no way to stop fighting. Nor, surprisingly so, did he have any wish to.

Teen. Written as a (strange and wonderful) Star Wars AU, to me this also reads like a stunning Gilgamesh/Enkidu fic, its language lyrical and very vivid.

His eyes are not on his hands, not where skilled blunt fingertips caress and pummel the cobalt blue custom Fender Jazz into sweet throbbing submission. His eyes are not anywhere on the trajectory of a small pale green item of feminine clothing about to flop down at his feet, missing its mark by a good six feet, he suspects. His eyes are not on the likely originator of said pale green item, frantically waving her arms in the air, her head thrown back in a scream of frenzied excitement as Ben-K goes down on one knee and wraps himself around the mike stand sinuously, crawling towards her while belting out the high notes like an angel in agony. The slack khaki pants that have threatened to fall off his hips all evening have slid a little lower.

From where he is standing, the view is perfect.

Mature, band!AU. This really shouldn’t work, but it very much does. In few words the author paints a picture of our boys, different but recognizable.

It’s not often we get a new face, after all, and two new faces, attached to bodies such as those… well, who could blame us for wanting them?

Especially with the Force so strong in both of them. No aphrodisiac better than the tang and tingle of the Force, for us.

Adult, “fuck or die”, outside POV. This gives a very interesting perspective, since the group Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan have infiltrated are Force-sensitive. Also, it’s smoking hot. 😉

A gorgeous, touching retelling of my favourite part of TPM – the relationship between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and how they both have to face their destinies. Can be read as slash or gen, as you like. 🙂 Music: Moving Mountains (Invincible), by Two Steps From Hell.

These things are true: Han has been in love with Leia since that bounty hunter on Ord Mantell. […]  Han has known he’s in love with Luke since the night Luke went missing.

Mature, post-ROTJ, twincest. Lovely, lovely OT3 from Han’s POV.
