Sharing the Shiny

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji sat at one of the low tables, Lan Wangji staring at Wei Wuxian with his normal blank expression, and Wei Wuxian chattering away cheerily. They both glanced up at the interruption.

“Jiang Cheng!” Wei Wuxian said, waving. “What are you doing here?”

For a moment Jiang Cheng just stood there, staring blankly. He looked around the room, expecting to see someone else — but no, it was just the two of them; Wei Wuxian grinning widely, and Lan Wangji looking like he was made of stone. Nothing strange there.

And then Wei Wuxian fluttered his eyelashes teasingly at Lan Wangji, and Lan Wangji —

Oh God.

Poor Jiang Cheng can hear people’s lustful thoughts – and one person is particularly loud, must to Jiang Cheng’s chagrin and our amusement. 🙂

Wei Wuxian knows that Lan Zhan is the same Lan Zhan as before, but also so, so different. This Lan Zhan is soft for him. This Lan Zhan has a set jaw and a steely look in his eye, ready to fight anyone who gets in Wei Wuxian’s way. This Lan Zhan puts up no fronts – it almost hurts to look at him, he’s so open.

Wei Wuxian looks at this Lan Zhan, and he wonders.

Wei Ying is a complete disaster – luckily Lan Zhan knows exactly what he wants… 😉

Wei Ying feels his mouth drop open. He’s pretty sure the Second Jade of Lan just told him he’s a virgin who wants to learn how to do sex good.

Rogue cultivator Wei Wuxian finds himself the unlikely sex teacher of Lan Wangji, who’s supposed to find an arranged marriage. This is so much fun – and of course full of hotness… 😉

It doesn’t hit Wei Ying until the third time it happens. In his defense, he’s not running on all cylinders, and definitely only on four hours of sleep. This is the last time he hooks up with someone on a Wednesday. It’s six in the morning and he has to get home, shower, throw some coffee down his gullet, sit and stare at the wall for half an hour, and then run to work. So if all he’s noticed about the guy sharing the elevator with him for the third time in two weeks is his hotness, who can really blame him?

But now that he’s looking a bit more closely, as the guy stares resolutely at the number display ticking up, he sees the telltale signs: slightly rumpled collar on an otherwise pristine outfit, bags under his eyes—not so noticeable that they are instantly apparent, but there if you look closely enough—kiss-bitten lips, and (the most damning evidence of all) a hickey blooming just under his ear.

This guy is coming back from a hookup of his own.

You gotta love modern AUs in which the boys fuck and there’s unintentional falling in love and pining going on… Delicious!

Wei Ying’s back is to him, but Lan Zhan would know him anywhere. His hair is tied into a low ponytail, messy, as always. It’s longer now than it was three years ago, snaking down his back, ending just above his shoulder blades. With him is a child—a boy—who’s holding onto his hand and looking up at him with his eyebrows furrowed, one finger stuck in his mouth.

Lan Zhan feels utterly foolish peeking from behind a display case at them, but he’s rooted to the spot. He cannot move.

Modern AU – love how it straddles the line between angst and hotness.

“Wei Ying.” The next moment, Lan Zhan reaches out and grabs Wei Wuxian’s wrist.

Abruptly, the pain stops. The shift is so shocking, Wei Wuxian nearly buckles under the relief, and when he catches Lan Zhan’s eye, he sees the same sort of relief reflected back at him, and not a small amount of shock.

And then he realizes that the relief he’s seeing on Lan Zhan’s face, he’s actually feeling himself. There are two distinct pieces of him that feel this relief—himself and…and something else. As though another presence has burrowed its way inside his mind and settled there.
