Canon divergence in which Hydra disfigured Bucky’s face, this is haunting and beautiful and not quite like anything else I’ve ever read.
This is not helping, Wei Ying thinks. This is neither job hunting nor relaxing. He can’t calm his thoughts, though. He knows how this works, he understands the vicious spiral of this thought process, but knowledge doesn’t equal ability not to fall into the trap. His mind will just go in circles, showing him the same images over and over again, but with more intensity each time, and he just—he’s too tired, too done with it, to let it happen.
He forgoes the nap and opens his laptop again, typing Hanguang-jun in the video search. This channel, run by Lan Zhan, who Wei Ying knows personally from before, from videoblogger meet-ups and other occasions, kept the last threads of his sanity during his worst days.
This fic is nothing short of amazing. I started reading it because I’m seriously into ASMR, but I was completely pulled in by the way Wei Ying’s struggle with his mental health is depicted. Without magical cure (either by ASMR or Lan Zhan’s dick *g*) but with so much compassion and careful optimism.
“I believe you failed to communicate some important information,” Lan Zhan’s voice is tight over the phone and Wei Ying has a second to think, whoops, before his mouth is rushing in.
“I may… have forgotten to mention the location of the resentful spirit, yes.” He’d sent Lan Zhan the link to a Facebook event with a little note that said ‘sign up here!’ without really thinking. His phone ringing less than a minute later is probably justified. It isn’t every day that your neighbour sends a link to a fetish party and a command to attend. Even if it is softened with an exclamation mark.
“Mm,” Lan Zhan says and Wei Ying winces. That’s an ‘mm’ with a world of promise in it.
Modern AU in which there’s still cultivation – but that’s mostly incidental as Wei Ying realises that taking Lan Zhan to this party means revealing things about himself…

There’s a house Pharm loves on the beach, a harbor, a sanctuary, that suddenly feels emptier than it ever has.
This is a breathtakingly beautiful “what if no one died” that left me speechless. Seriously, it gave me more emotions than most books I’ve read (and I’ve read many). The story might start with Pharm, but it’s when it shifts to Intouch and Korn trying to rebuild on the ruins of their tragedy that it truly shines, heartachingly painful but mostly filled with so much love. A masterpiece.
“I’m Dean,” the taller of the two boys says. He’s got a shock of brown hair that curls over his forehead, a smattering of freckles across his nose, and strikingly green eyes.
“And this is Sammy.” The younger boy is clinging to his brother, not meeting Ellen’s gaze. His bangs are so long they hang over his eyes. She wonders how much of the last two years he’s spent growing up in the back of a car.
“Well, come on in, I’ll fix you some dinner.”
Ellen has been watching the Winchester boys all their lives. This is an amazing outside POV.
“Zhao Yunlan,” says an urgent male voice.
“Hm?” He tastes blood. That can’t be good. Zhao Yunlan forces his eyes fully open, blinks his vision into focus. Takes in the scene around him. He’s lying on the grass in a park, and incongruously, it’s night-time. There’s Zhu Hong, smiling down at him, and next to her –
The stranger’s smile takes his breath away, full of relief, turning radiant a face that must be beautiful under any circumstances: dark eyes framed with long lashes and round glasses, high cheekbones thrown into sharp relief by deep shadows, and perfectly curved lips.
“Hey,” Zhao Yunlan breathes, returning the smile without quite knowing why, his chest warming at the sight.
