“Wei Ying.” No response. Not even the twitch of an eyelid. Just the same dull, vacant stare he’s been wearing since Lan Wangji pulled him away from the carnage at the Nightless City.
This hurts. I always wondered how this scene from the novel might have gone and have now accepted this as canon.

This is simply brilliant. So much fun!
The candle has burnt itself halfway by the time Song Lan stirs. Wangji has been meditating with his eyes closed and he can feel the weight of the other man’s eyes on him, senses when they slide over to Wei Ying’s sleeping form.
Slowly, gingerly, Song Lan gets to his feet, still favouring the side he had injured, probably in the fight with Wen Ning. Wangji opens his eyes a crack, just in time to see the moonlight glowing through the paper windows catch the edge of Fuxue’s blade.

The night after Xue Yang’s death, Lan Wangji and Song Lan share a moment. I never knew I needed this – it hurts, but it’s also so very beautiful, to see Wangji use his own painful experiences to reach out to a man who’s lost everything.
Intensely atmospheric and painful look at Wei Ying on his dark, lonely path.
Holy hell, this fricking BANGS, melding together the show and the animated series perfectly!
That Boy by Liang Bo is Wang Yibo’s favourite song – and he chose it to represent Xiao Zhan. They make me so happy – and so does this wonderful tribute to their friendship.
